A Crystal Bed has 7 extremely clear and highly polished Vogel cut quartz crystals suspended approximately 12 inches above the client lying on a massage table.  Each of the quartz crystals has been cut to a specific frequency. Oprah’s Reading the Good Ones

There’s no denying that the national best-seller lists are strongly influenced by Oprah’s book clubs. At Wings, we post the American Booksellers Association’s best-seller lists for both fiction and non-fiction, and we highlight the titles that relate to our store. Last week, touring the store with some new Wings volunteers, the comment was made that these best-sellers are reflecting the energy of our store much more than in past years. It was inevitable that we would all acknowledge Oprah’s influence. Her media coverage of A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor are just some of the books that put New Thought/metaphysics in so many households. More recently, we have seen Brian Weiss, Panache Desaii and The Untethered Soul’s author, Michael Singer, introducing a Sunday morning audience to a spirituality that may be new to them.



Oprah’s strong connection with Maya Angelou has brought forth an example of the richness and timelessness of relationships that exist between two women. In the most recent “O Magazine,” she interviews her mentor/mother/friend Maya Angelou. An unexpected comment from Maya again strengthens our connection with these women:



            Oprah: “Where do you go for solace, for comfort? Are there books that you read? When Maya Angelou needs comforting, where does she turn?”

            Maya:  “I’m a student of Unity, the Unity Church. I took a course on Unity about two years ago online. Not to become a member or a minister, but just to understand more deeply. There’s a book called Lessons in Truth (a core text of the Unity Ministry). And in this book...”
